EU & Korea on USTR Watch List
The US Trade Representative has placed South Korea on the "Priority Watch List", i.e. a list of countries which are failing to comply with commitments to enforce exclusion rights such as copyright.
The EU is already on the same list, inter alia for failing to provide sufficient patent coverage for
"biotechnological inventions". The US government has also raised objections to the European Parliament's decisions on software patents, but it is not clear when and whether this point will be added to the "Priority Watch List".
